Sometimes the easiest and best way to learn is to learn what you love. Bring your playlist with your favourite songs and we can get stuck in to learning your favourite drum parts!

Be confident sitting your grading exams, with a tutor that boasts a 100% pass rate. There's no pressure and success is never rushed.

FOR PERFORMING
Learn to play in bands, get ready for a gig, or a performance exam. Learn stage presence and how to keep the audience's attention, without losing any musical clarity.
PRICINGS AND AVAILABILITY

TRAVEL
Although our tutors don't offer home visits, our new base in Bishop's Waltham is close to many main travel routes including both M3 and M27 motorways.

PRICING
Lessons can be arranged for 30 minutes, 45 minutes, or 60 minutes. With the prices at £20, £30, and £40 respectively per lesson. Customised lesson lengths are available upon request.

SAM SANDERS, PRINCIPAL TEACHER
Sam Sanders is the Principal Teacher, and founder of Hampshire Drum School.
He has played the drum kit for nineteen years and has taught for eight of those. He has taught both privately and in schools (independent, mainstream and SEN), which has given him a breadth of experience across the many challenges that learners both young and old face.
For his academic qualifications - aside from things like grades in both drums and music theory, he has achieved BTEC National Diplomas in both Music Performance and Technologies, as well as a Bachelor Of Arts in Professional Musicianship.
Professionally, he has toured with UK award-winning country artists Alan Finlan, Danny Mcmahon and Lily Garland, UK hip hop artist Parv and rnb covers artists Guilt Trippin' (to name a few), as well as being a permanent member of the progressive metal band Lost in Thought.
Sam also plays regularly as first percussionist with the HMS Sultan Royal Navy Band, and has played professionally as a pit/theatre percussionist for the last ten years. He has been lucky enough to have played scores such as Les Misérables and Little Shop of Horrors. He has also worked on a number of professional pantomimes such as Jack & The Beanstalk and Beauty & The Beast up and down the country.

STEVE CORRIGAN,
DRUM TEACHER

Steve Corrigan, Drum Teacher
Steve Corrigan is a Hampshire-based drummer and multi-instrumentalist, who has had over 15 years teaching, performing and recording experience in the music industry. Steve has played all over the world, touring with the likes of Europe, Thin Lizzy and Scorpions. He has also opened festival stages for such iconic bands as Status Quo, The Darkness and Rival Sons. Steve climbed the ranks of the UK rock circuit as co-founder and drummer of blues-rock quartet Dirty Thrills, bagging a multi-international record contract and several publishing deals in the process. In 2019, Steve joined forces with his ex-Dirty Thrills' guitarist, and help formed the electro hard-rock outfit TOVA. After several UK headline shows, the band have gone from strength to strength, achieving ‘Artist of the Week’ on Kerrang! Radio, as well as regular features on BBC Radio 1 Alternative Rock shows. Outside his originals band, Steve plays regularly in a variety of corporate/function acts around the country, and even dips his toe into the occasional session work, with him recently recording at the legendary Abbey Road Studios!

ROB PURKISS,
DRUM TEACHER
Having started drums at an early age, Rob Purkiss began his performing career at the age of 13 with ceilidh, party and function bands. Since then, he’s gone on to perform in numerous bands, as well as working for Wildcard (Entertainment Nation), Rooster, The Royal T’s, and now in the present day working as the live percussionist for Club Classic Orchestra. As a recent venture, in 2024 Rob co-founded Intergalactic Party Co - an agency that provides top-tier function and wedding bands, where Rob is also a primary musician amongst their roster. Rob’s teaching experience dates back to 2013 where he delivered lessons to groups in such genres as African drumming, samba and other world music. He likes to put emphasis on developing an engaging curriculum and materials to help inspire creativity amongst his students.

JAKE DANIELS,
DRUM TEACHER

Jake is a working drummer with over 10 years of gigging, recording, touring and teaching experience. He’s played everything from 100-cap rock shows to weddings, holiday parks and private events. In teaching, he’s taught students of all ages from complete beginners to experienced players, utilising reading, technique and detailed lesson planning.
Jake specialities are, but not limited to, rock and metal drumming, having toured as a member of the band Wolf Culture for the last 10 years. The band were signed to an indie US label and have released multiple singles and videos, as well as playing support tours for Mallory Knox, Roam, Tonight Alive and Hawthorne Heights.
In addition, Jake has also played for multiple successful tribute acts, including Jackhammer (rock covers), Elvis 56 & The Heartbreakers (9 piece Elvis tribute), and The Decades (general touring tribute).
